YTSK II: Chapter XXIII

In Universe Date: 23 April 2021

Yan walks into Shusha's room. "Hello Shusha, I would like to see new election polling data." "Sure thing Ms. President, just give me a minute."

While Yan waits for Shusha to retrieve the relevant files, her eyes scan the room, and a bat in a cage catches her eyes.

"Hey Shusha, how long have you owned a bat?", she says with suspicion. "Oh, that bat? It's not mine. It belongs to my little brother, who has owned it for a few months now. I took it to my office yesterday because my brother is going on a vacation." "Oh, that's cool. Where is he going?" "Uhhh... Spain." "I see. Well I hope your brother has a splendid vacation. Send him my regards."

Yan walks closer to the bat. "What's the name of this boy?" "Jerry." "Hello Jerry." Yan sticks her finger inside of Jerry's cage. "Oh look, he's trying to bite my finger. Not getting through my skin though."

Shusha approaches Yan. "Here is the election polling data you asked for."

"Well, it looks like IVP is still projected to gain a majority of seats."

Shusha nods in agreement. "Do you still not plan on resigning?" Yan shakes her head. "No, I think I have a different strategy. Let's portray the IVP as pro-Mapperdonian traitors." "That would be untrue though. IVP supports the war effort." "Who cares?" "B-b-b-but, Ms. President! You can't just LIE in politics!" "Who says I can't?" "General moral principle" "Moral principles don't win votes. I am going to do what no politician has ever done before:"

"*LIE!*"

Yan laughs diabolically. "Muahahaha! This plan will win me the election for sure!"

An hour later, Tenax receives a text from Shusha. "Guys, Yan wants to lie for votes. Holy shit." DRM and DH are surprised, but Zed is calm. "Don't tell me y'all are surprised. Yan is fixing to win the election, and she's already a murderer, so there's no reason to hold her to high moral standards."

As they continue their journey toward Cartograville, a sense of urgency consumes them. The fate of their nations hinges on their success. Finally, they arrive at the grand Câmara popular, the seat of power in Mapperdonia. Orion, the president of Mapperdonia, awaits their arrival, his presence radiating arrogance and ego.

Orion greets them with a dismissive wave of his hand. "What are you doing here, pretentious little kid? Yes, it's me, the one and only. And who are these losers?" His tone drips with condescension as he surveys Tenax's squad. "Violet? I thought you were dead. Oof."

"Not dead, just captured. You see, while I was besieging the nuclear silo, there was a surprise attack on my army. I tried to fight back, but my forces were overwhelmed and I retreated. Afterwards, a Videomapistani force came after me and captured me as well as quite a few of my troops. I was brought to an extermination camp, but I was freed thanks to Tenax."

Tenax maintains his composure, his gaze unwavering. "We're here to discuss matters of utmost importance, Orion. It's time to put our differences aside for the sake of our nations."

Orion smirks, his ego unrestrained. "Perhaps. Yk, kinda funny - did this entrance test for this 2nd year German class last year, and was amusingly told that I was overqualified and should prob go right to a third year class since I got almost everything right lmao. Go on."

DH, unable to contain his frustration, steps forward, his voice tinged with anger. "Orion, this is not a game! Yan is committing genocide and deceiving the people, and we need your support to stop her tyranny!"

Orion laughs mockingly, his eyes gleaming with derision. "Stop her? Por que would I assist you? Don't speak for me, especialmente when you're wrong, k?", he says as he interjects Portuguese words into the conversation in an attempt to seem intelligent. "You underestimate my intelecto, my dear Tenax."

Violet, unable to tolerate Orion's arrogance, confronts him directly. "Orion, stop speaking Portuguese and take this seriously! Lives are at stake here. We have a plan to eliminate Yan and restore peace. But we require the use of the Mapperdonian Air Force to reach her lair. Will you help us, or shall your ego blind you to the greater good?"

Orion's eyes narrow, his narcissism palpable. "Don't speak of things beyond your league, especially when you're wrong, k?"

Tenax clenches his fists, his patience tested. "Remember, Orion, this cooperation is not about your ego. It is about saving countless lives and ending the suffering caused by Yan's reign. Regardless, let us lay out the plan in more detail."

Orion leans back in his chair, an air of superiority enveloping him. "So you think you have it all figured out, kid? Tenax with his grand plans, lol. Unrelated btw, but I, for one, have always found anthropomorphic animals to be cute."

Tenax continues, his gaze fixed on Orion, determined to make him understand the gravity of the situation. "Our objective is to infiltrate Yan's lair in R'lyeh, confront her, and put an end to her reign of terror. To achieve this, we will need the Mapperdonian Air Force to transport us to the ocean above R'lyeh."

DH interjects, his voice infused with confidence. "I will utilize my special ki techniques to create a protective barrier, ensuring our safe descent through the ocean until we reach the floor. From there, we will enter Yan's lair and confront her directly."

Orion raises an eyebrow, his arrogance shining through. "Perhaps. Say, anything you're missing? She is no ordinary opponent."

Violet steps forward, his eyes burning with conviction. "We have gathered intelligence that reveals Yan's vulnerability. Despite her seemingly impenetrable skin, we have discovered that she can be permanently destroyed if a biology textbook is thrown at her."

Orion chuckles, a mix of disbelief and condescension in his tone. "A biology textbook? I'm not feeding this troll anymore. Adjectives ≠ nouns, FYI. Just saying."

Tenax maintains his composure, undeterred by Orion's skepticism. "Yes, Orion. This weakness was foretold many millennia ago, by Yan's original father. Thanks to a researcher who has left this world, the wisdom of the ancients has been transmitted to us and we have ascertained that this will work."

Orion's gaze shifts from Zed to Tenax, contemplating their words.

"Qué if Yan isn't in R'lyeh when you attack?"

Tenax smirks. "Oh, we've thought of that. You see, we have a mole within Yan's regime who is secretly working for us. If Yan isn't in R'lyeh when we attack, our mole will trick her into teleporting there. That way, we can force a confrontation."

After a moment of silence, Orion breaks into a sly smile. "Very well, Tenax. I shall grant you the use of Mapperdonian military aircraft asap. It's an acronym meaning as soon as possible. But mark my words, if this plan fails, I will hold you accountable. An attack on Yan is an in-depth thing like a political theory. Don't treat it like a child. Au revoir."

Tenax nods, gratitude mixed with caution in his expression. "We understand the risks, Orion. Our objective remains unchanged – to end Yan's reign and pave the way for peace."

Violet has a sudden realization. "Wait, how will we get our hands on a biology textbook?". "From Santa", Tenax says. DH scoffs. "Santa isn't real, you morons! And even if he was real, we'd have to wait until December." "Looks like we got a Santa denier on our hands. If Santa isn't real, why did my childhood presents say 'from: Santa'?" DH nods. "Yeah, you have a point. Guess we'll be waiting half a year."
