YTSK II: Chapter XXIX

In Universe Date: 28 December 2021

As the Mapperdonian plane flies over the south pacific, coming closer to R'lyeh with every passing second, Tenax, who is aboard, speaks to DH. "'If fighting is sure to result in victory, then you must fight!' Sun Tzu said that, and I'd say he knows a little more about fighting than you do, pal, because he invented it, and then he perfected it so that no living man could best him in the ring of honor."

"Well, I think I could best him." "But are you a living man from his time?" DH chuckles. "No, I guess I am not." DH pauses a bit, before continuing. "Sun Tzu is right. This is our best moment to strike. We will win this."

Tenax' eyes graze the computer screen for further information. "We'll be above R'lyeh in a matter of minutes."

Minutes later, the Mapperdonian plane is above R'lyeh.

"Alright guys, before we launch our attack, Shusha is going to phone Yan. He should be starting his call any moment now."

Shortly after, Violet's phone rings.

Violet opens his phone, with Shusha video-calling him. Shusha is beside Dodo's bleeding body in a hospital.

"YAN, LOOK! IT'S A TRAGEDY! ...wait, Violet, how did you get Yan's phone?"

Tenax screeches. "YAN IS IN THE PLANE! GET HER!"

Violet quickly runs to grab Dragon Historian before teleporting away.

Violet and Dragon Historian are in Yan's lair, and confront each other.

"YAN! WHAT HAPPENED TO VIOLET!?", DH screams.

Violet sheds her disguise, returning to her Yannist appearance before uttering an evil chuckle. "Let me explain everything."

(Flashback scene; Yan narrates.)

It all began yesterday. I was partaking in a battle to clear the last enemy troops in Cartograville. We had actually surrounded an enemy district.

"We wish to surrender", they said.

"You can't", I told them.

"But we no longer wish to fight you", they pleaded.

And then, I said, *(laughs evilly)*:

"That was never your choice. I came to destroy you. What you do in response to that is up to you. It is no concern of mine."

I then used my arm to shoot several missiles at towers and buildings in the district, before laughing manically. It was then that one of my Russian assistants arrived to bring vital news from abroad: Mapperdonia had invaded Vanuatu. "*What the hell are they doing in the south pacific?*", I wondered, before the terrible possibility hit me: "*Do they know about R'lyeh?*".

I scrambled to come up with a plan. Within a moment, I took on the appearance of the president of Vanuatu, and teleported to the Vanautuan parliament, where, using my disguise, I swiftly managed to obtain information to contact the Vanuatuan military leadership.

It was this moment, when I called the lead general commanding the Battle of Riri Blue Hole, that I learned that the Mapperdonian troops were somehow blocking the Vanuatuan bullets using some kind of force field. I could come to no other conclusion than that Dragon Historian was among the Mapperdonian troops. I thought I had killed him by sending the car he was in into the sky, but I guess I was wrong. And, if Dragon Historian is still alive, then Tenax, Zed or DRM might also be.

Me and the military commander hatched a plan that would allow me to obtain more intel through so-called "peace negotiations": The Vanuatuan troops slowly stopped firing. Our ruse worked, and Violet approached to discuss a ceasefire. After I asked him why they had invaded Vanuatu, he confirmed my worst fears: they were indeed planning to go to R'lyeh. After a lengthy discussion, I agreed to let their plane be refuelled. However, just as our discussion came to an end, I said:

"Hey Violet? There's just one more thing I want to say."

"And what may that be, president?"

"Never trust anyone."

As we had agreed in our plans, that was the cue for the troops to shoot at Violet. Within a fraction of a second, Violet lay dead, with dozens of bullet wounds decorating his body.

I then told the military to refuel their plane as agreed and that a Violet lookalike would enter the Mapperdonian squad to spy on them, before I then hung up on the military.

After I seamlessly infiltrated the squad, I felt like a master swindler. I imagined how this all would play out. They would enter R'lyeh, expecting easy access to healing juice, but then - SURPRISE! I would reveal myself to be among them, and kill them all, except Tenax, because I want to execute him on Videomapistani television.

Unfortunately, it seems that your squad decided, for whatever godforsaken reason, to encourage Shusha to call me, which outed me as being on your plane. I'm surprised you guys even had contacts with him, you must be expert doxxers.

Anyway, with that whole idea having been turned to dust, I improvised a plan B. I want Tenax to survive this operation so that I can execute him on live television, so I decided to drag you down here, so I can beat you in a one-on-one fight. Since you are the only one with the capacity to reach the ocean floor safely, your friends won't be able to come down here to help you, not that they could do anything anyway. Once I've killed you, I can re-enter the plane and, with you dead, you won't be able to make a mess of my plan to kill everyone safe for Tenax.

(Flashback ends)

Dragon Historian thinks: "*But if she re-enters the plane, she'll be killed! They have a biology textbook that can kill her instantly! But wait... does she even know about that? No, wait, of course she doesn't! In the plane, we only rehearsed the plan once, but that was before we landed in Vanuatu and Yan entered! And based on how Yan is speaking about all of this, it doesn't seem Violet divulged too many details about this operation other than that it targeted R'lyeh. Hmmm...*"

Yan noticed DH's deep thinking expressions. "What are you thinking so hard about, DH?"

"I'm thinking about how I'm going to destroy you!"

"Ohohohoho! Well, good luck with that!"

*To be continued...*
