YTSK II: Chapter XXXIV

In Universe Date: 28 December 2021

Yan growls. "I... hate... you..."

"I hate you too."

Yan's comment causes a thunderstorm to unravel within DH's mind. DH takes an angry breath, and unleashes a tirade.

"You know Yan, I don't think you know what that word truly means. What true hatred feels like. I know that all of this, all this bloodshed and murder, that all of this is supposed to be funny for you. As if you're killing imaginary characters in a story made up for shits and giggles, and not living people who breathe. But I'll tell you what, Yan. Jake was my father, and I loved him. But you think you have the right to take him away from me, over something as petty as mistakes in a mapping video! Yan, when I say I hate you, I truly mean it. I hate you with every fibre in my being. Every breath you take, every word you speak, is an insult to my honour. Every single day in the past year, I have thought about how badly I want to kill you. You're lucky that you're invincible, because if you weren't, I would stab you over and over and over for hours on end.

...Also, I think it's been 5 minutes. Didn't you say I would be dead now?"

Yan grunts: "Oh, shut up!"

DH screams. "OH SORRY, IS THIS NO LONGER FUNNY!? You know, if nothing else, I am glad that I've been able to wipe that condescending grin of your face. First you ignore me, then you laugh at me, then you fight me, then I win. Turns out, your invincibility doesn't make you a god. It just makes you a coward hiding behind undeserved power.

...Anyway, what was I doing?"

DH thinks for 10 seconds. "Right, I was going to get Orion's ph-"

Yan interrupts: "THIS. ISN'T. OVER!", before teleporting away.

"Where did she go? ...Uh, whatever. I'll get the phone"

Yan has teleported to the bottom floor of her lair. She crouches on all fours, and thinks.

"*DH used my jar of healing juice by emptying on it onto his left shoulder. When he did so, a bunch of healing juice inadvertently fell onto the floor. If my memory serves me, it fell right... HERE!*"

Yan thrusts her face, eyes wide open, onto the floor. Shortly after, her eyes regenerate.

"*YES! I CAN SEE AGAIN!*"

She then sees DH as he descends down the ladder, en route to Orion's corpse. After taking aim, she unleashes a new barrage of explosive bullets at him. DH barely manages to jump off the ladder in time to dodge Yan's strike.

"HOW DID YOU SEE ME?", DH screams. Yan points to the puddle of healing juice besides her. "Damn you Yan! Then I'll have to find another way to defeat you!"

Yan utters a condescending chuckle and speaks with scathing pity. "Oh, oh, DH. You never know when to give up, do you?"

"THAT'S RIGHT! I WILL NEVER GIVE UP! I WILL DEFEAT YOU NO MATTER WHAT IT TAKES!"

Yan gives a muted and somewhat irritated "Hnggg...", before taking a deep breath.

"You know DH, I think I finally understand you. All this time I have been fighting like as if this battle is one big joke, but you, you truly fight like it matters - because I killed your father, and you thirst for revenge. I can understand that - I myself seek revenge against those who make inaccurate maps. I can respect it; it is a sign of strength to cry out against fate, rather than to bow one's head and succumb. And since you fight like it really means something, I think it's only appropriate if I return the favour. So then, let us drop the nonsense..."

Yan opens the machine guns in both her arms.

"...AND FIGHT TO THE DEATH!"

After quickly looking behind her position to make sure there are no potential trip traps, Yan unleashes a new barrage of explosive bullets. When DH re-enables his energy barrier, she hopes to exhaust his energy.
